Born between 1981 and 1996, the aptly named Millennial generation became the first full generation of the technological age. An experience driven group, they value not only widespread reach and global influence, but the opinions of friends and social media groups when exploring the design world. As part of our Generational Palettes collection, PPG has curated three color stories to reference when designing spaces for Millennials.

Eclectic Contemporary

These colors evoke a sense of energy and creativity, reflecting millennials' desire for self-expression and individuality. Mixing contrasting and complementary colors allows millennials to experiment and create visually striking combinations.

Instant Access

A cohort with a highly creative and entrepreneurial mindset, Millenials are disruptors of industry, authority, convention and tradition.

Relaxed Transitional

These versatile shades seamlessly transition between different design elements. Warm grays, soft blues, and muted greens, offer millennials the flexibility to create spaces and visuals that effortlessly flow and adapt to their evolving needs and preferences.

Carefully Considered

Soft, simple neutrals and cool accents reflect a respite from the Millennial propensity for cultural disruption.

Mellow Modernist

This palette combines soothing and muted tones with a touch of flair, creating a harmonious and contemporary look. These colors reflect millennials' desire for balance and well-being while incorporating subtle pops of modern hues.

Immediate Gratification

These extremes represent the Millennial desire for instant access and immediate gratification.
